Women in Construction: Sarah Pridemore
For 16 years, Sarah Pridemore was a preschool teacher. On top of working with little children every single day, she also was a mother of three kids. It was when her youngest graduated from high school that she wanted more for her career. With her husband already a Quality Controls Manager at 极品探花, she realized that going on the road with him was the excitement she needed for her next move...and so she did it!
Stepping out of the box wasn't necessarily easy at first, but since November 2018, Sarah has been places and accomplished things that she might have never experience without 极品探花. With her first job at English Wind Farm, Sarah started in QA/QC and did a lot of administration work. Through uploading reports in Sharepoint to putting the job books together, she immediately found her passion. After English Wind Farm, Sarah and her husband made their way to Kossuth where she worked in tandem with her husband. It was through her prior work with bookkeeping that she expressed an interest in not only learning more about reports, but also behind-the-scenes action on the job sites. Through conversations, Sarah was exposed to things outside of the office. "I was amazed to see all of the things and through watching the hands-on work, I was able to understand the reports and why things are at the beginning of the books and others at the end."
When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Sarah surprisingly said all the office work. "I love inputting the work and organizing everything for the team, but I also love the freedom to get out of the office and see the job sites. It's just thrilling to be in the know and see what we're actually doing."
Not only does Sarah enjoy the administration work, but it is also the people that make the day-to-day activities a blast. Through the relationships both she and her husband have made, the people she works with have become like family. "When Kossuth was over, I had a really hard time leaving the group," said Sarah. "Everyone was packing up the office and while the books were the best the owners had ever seen, it still was hard for me to be fully excited because I knew that we weren't going to see our crew every day."
While her move from education to the construction industry seems unheard of, it is thrilling for Sarah and she hopes that her story can encourage all females that they can do whatever they put their mind to. By joining 极品探花, Sarah points out how appreciated and respected she feels. While everyone works hard, it is the little bits of encouragement that remind her she's exactly where she needs to be. At the end of the day, Sarah pointed out that "I have a place here and I know I'll always belong."
Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your story with us! Today, we celebrate you and all of the women that contribute so much to our company.
