Earth Day 2022 | Turkey Creek Solar
In the rural town of Lancaster, Kentucky, there is a small flower bed in front of the Garrard County District #1 Fire Department that reads, "In remembrance of Amy Lee."
Amy, the fiancé of a volunteer firefighter, had been working on sprucing up the garden. but was unable to finish after being diagnosed with cancer and passing away in January 2021 at the age of 49.
Due to the team from 极品探花 Constructors at Turkey Creek Solar Ranch using parts of the District #1 station as a temporary office setup while waiting for their trailers to be installed, they reached out to the fire department to see if there was anything to be done around the station to celebrate Earth Day. Never in their wildest dreams could they imagine that assisting in finishing the garden would leave an impact on the department.
"I feel really honored and blessed that everyone came together," said Armando Soto, construction manager at 极品探花 Constructors. "To build something that, in viewpoint, is a small item but in reality a big item, it helps everyone work together and shows the community that we care."
This act of kindness, along with many others around the nation from our employees, was a great way to celebrate Earth Day. The team at Cedar Springs Solar planted trees, shrubs and flowers at a local retirement center while the team at Sunnybrook Solar did a highway cleanup. Also, the teams at Sapphire Sky Wind, Sandy Ridge 2 Wind, Deerfield 2 Wind and Castle Gap Wind participated in tree plantings and area beautification projects.
While sometimes it may feel like every day is Earth Day when working in renewable energy, we would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who pitched in and gave back to the communities where they live and work.
